My name is Victoria Boatey, my journey started in Accra Ghana (Medina to be specific). From as young as I can remember before school in the morning, I would buy Hausa Koko for breakfast along with some Buffloat or Koose for my junior siblings. I am the first of six siblings and this morning routine never broke its course until I migrated to London, England. As any migrant would admit, the first thing that you realize is the difference in culture and food. I began my new life working as a cleaner alongside studying to be a nurse. I adjusted well to my new surroundings but always reminisced about the authentic and flavourful street foods that I ate as a child in Ghana. In London, I was able to find substitutes, but this usually involved a compromise in ingredients and did not match the quality and depth of flavour.

I always enjoyed cooking and decided in 2010 that I would make that same authentic and flavourful street foods that I bought in my town, Medina. This was not a small task, the first few years of production took place in my tiny kitchen, and I took all the help I could get from friends and family. I began supplying Delight Hausa Koko, Koose and Buffloat to local Ghanaian churches, Shops, and Barbershops. The reception from my first customers was positive and gave me the confidence to continue to supply such traditional foods.

At present Delight foods supply authentic traditional foods such as our signature breakfast Hausa Koko, Buffloat, Koose, peanuts, and Burkina across London. Our core values are focused on authenticity, flavour, and tradition. We plan on expanding our traditional foods nationally and internationally so that everyone can experience the delights we have to offer.
